What is your mission?
To give peace of mind through the provision of high-quality care that makes a difference in the life of a loved one.
What was your first job?
At the age of 15, I worked in Los Gatos, California, at Bumbleberry’s Restaurant as a wait person.
What was your worst job?
I worked at Century 21 movie theater. We had to pretend to be busy when we had no work to do.
What led you to your industry?
I loved elderly people and could empathize with their loneliness and loss of independence and dignity with age.
What was the smartest thing your company did in the past year?
We invested our resources in improving our medical home care staff and helping them be the best they can be.
Who is your industry role model?
Sister Mary Jean Ryan.
How do you try to differentiate your business from others in your industry?
I am involved on a daily basis and aware of my staff and each client. We treat our staff and clients as if they were our own family.
What is the hottest trend in your industry, and are you planning to jump on board?
With an aging population, there is a growing demand for health care professionals to address all the medical and emotional needs for elderly people and help their loved ones.
What is the hardest part of your job?
Seeing how our clients and staff deal with the struggle of losing a loved one. We take it personally.
What best advice would you share with new entrepreneurs?
Follow your passion. Do not compromise on your ethics or true beliefs – not even for money.
What’s your favorite place in St Louis?
Forest Park and the Saint Louis Zoo. What a treasure.
What book is on your nightstand?
“The Advantage” by Patrick Lencioni.
What has made you successful in your industry and in St. Louis?
Integrity and surrounding myself with other entrepreneurs.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Ride my bike around St. Louis and discover the city from a different vantage point.
