A sales expert shared two tantalizing statistics that should pique the interest of anyone who sells. He said that when he sent LinkedIn InMail messages to prospects using its voice feature, he got a 40% message open rate and booked 18 appointments.
Why such a terrific result? The prospects had never received such a message and were genuinely curious.
To send a voice message to a prospect on LinkedIn, follow these steps:
• Install the free LinkedIn app onto your phone or tablet through the App store or Google Play. (You can only send voicemail messages through the mobile app).
• Invite the prospect to connect.
• Once he or she accepts, open the LinkedIn app and click the My Network icon at the bottom of the screen.
• Click “View Connections”, find the person in your connections list (you can sort the list by recently connected, first name, or last name), and then click the message icon to the right of the person’s name.
• Click the microphone icon to the right of the “Type a message” box.
• Tap the blue “Record” button to record your message and then click “Send”.
Recipients receive the message through regular LinkedIn InMail, where they can click the “Play” button to hear your message.
Give the LinkedIn voice feature a try and see your message open rate soar.
