LinkedIn is an excellent place to network with influencers, prospects and customers. However, another LinkedIn advantage that often gets overlooked is the ability to introduce your connections to each other for their mutual benefit.
For example, you may want to introduce a retired military veteran to a former military officer who likes to help veteran job seekers. Or maybe you’d like to introduce a keynote speaker to an event manager seeking such an expert. Or you may want to introduce clients to a provider who can address their critical need.
Sure, you can introduce them via email but by introducing them on LinkedIn, both people can see each other’s LinkedIn profile to put a name with a face and to learn about each other’s background and company.
To introduce one person to another, you must be connected to both people (so invite the people to connect and then wait for them to accept). Click on the Messaging tab at the top of your LinkedIn Home page. Click the new message icon. Type the people’s names into the Name box one at a time, selecting their mini bio that pops up. Type your message and click send.
You will be included in the message as the people begin to interact but can remove yourself from the conversation by navigating to the message in your Messaging list. Swipe left on the conversation, then click “Leave.”
Become a master networker on LinkedIn by introducing people who could benefit from knowing each other!
