Despite LinkedIn being the world’s largest professional network, your organization may not be maximizing your use of it – either because you haven’t learned how to use it – or, haven’t seen results from it yet. But not mastering LinkedIn for sales, marketing, or recruiting, could hurt you. That’s because there are more than one billion people are on the platform worldwide with more than 230 million in the U.S. alone. Your prospects are likely on the site, particularly if you are in a business-to-business industry.
Here are startling statistics about the platform according to Social Shepherd:
- Nearly 2.5 million people use LinkedIn for job search weekly, making it the second most used job site after Indeed.com. Plus, 67% of recruiters say that those hired through LinkedIn are of higher quality than those recruited through other job sites.
- More than 67 million companies have a presence on the platform.
- Three out of four people on LinkedIn drive business decisions.
- More than 82% of business-to-business marketers advertise on LinkedIn and such businesses have seen a 33% purchase intent increase due to their LinkedIn ads. Amazingly, a full third of buyers who see an ad on LinkedIn research the company with the purpose of purchasing a product.
- LinkedIn has twice the advertising conversion rate as other channels.
